DEDICATED TO SHEELAGH & MICK O’BRIEN

THE LOTTO WINNERS

On a July week end, in the year ninety nine,
At Youghal "Hilltop," with the sky bright and fine.
An influx of families, from the ends of the earth,
From Canada, The States, from England and Perth.

There were Kellys and Mannings, McCluskeys - and more,
O’Sullivans, O’Briens, -- and Barrons - galore.
‘Twas a grand celebration, one lifetime’s reunion,
To partake and enjoy, most unique communion.

There was hugging and kissing, and meeting and greeting,
Touring and shopping, and drinking and eating.
Swimming and golfing, and running and walking
Posing and snapping, and dry mouths with talking.

For one hundred and twenty, a Mass was then said,
In converted Dining Room, in prayers we were led.
Sad story was told, of this girl wooed in vain --
A moral to learn, -- but "No way!" - prayers for rain!

Absolution dispensed, to the whole congregation,
Freeing all who desired, to receive the oblation.
"Faith of our Fathers," among hymns that were sung,
Good readings were heard, from the lips of the young.

The Mass was then ended, guests out to the lawn,
A beautiful evening, it was good to be born.
Group photos were taken, of all family clan,
Blood relations and in laws, generations to span.

"The Room" re- transformed, for reunion feast,
Taking our places, for Grace by the priest.
The menu so wide, and must please the gourmet,
Piltown Lamb, Farmyard Duckling and fish - (Youghal Bay.)

A local, live Jazz Band, then played for some dancing,
With interval "Turns" and some songs, - quite enchanting.
A chrystal glass Lamp, to Mine Host and Hostess,
Then time for the Disco, -- or Good Night - God Bless.

We shall always remember, this unique occasion,
And kind thoughts that led, to this twin celebration.
A fortune well used, to unite with the tribe,
Much pleasure ensued, this plan did prescribe.
